Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY FW24 is a theatrical interpretation of Scottish history

Scottish designer Charles Jeffrey is never afraid to be eccentric. His whimsical and playful nature is rooted in a theatrical structure that never takes itself too seriously. For Fall/Winter 2024, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY does just that, opening a dramatic play titled “THE CURIOUS CASE OF MOSHKIRK & BOONESS.”

The playful collection is hunted by monsters inspired by scrap paper found at Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY’s headquarters. Sent in by an 18-year-old enthusiast who detailed his life in the lost village of Moshkirk in Scotland. LOVERBOY’s FW24 collection reflects the rebellious inhabitants of Moshkirk, telling the story of a pioneering fashion movement in 1979. Punk and disco ruled the streets before Margaret Thatcher’s conservative rule, prompting Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY to reminisce about the joyful moments experienced in Moshkirk.

The 37-look collection is full of rage and chaos, starting with oversized tailoring adorned with handmade patchwork panels. Plaid puffers and strong-shouldered coats follow, while the brand’s signature animal ears nurture hoodies and beanies. Bleached denim jackets and animal-printed anoraks ooze defiance, featuring rebellious band tees, shredded knitwear, and banana-peeled boots to complete the collection in a humorous manner.
