Dimensional transformation becomes the essence of Studio Nicholson’s new collection for the spring of 2024. Nick Wakeman, the founder and creative director, presents the evolution of form, creating an essential ensemble for a futuristic, modular wardrobe.
Classic cuts make a comeback in our closets, simultaneously acknowledging the conflicting desire for austerity and nonchalance. The new, slimmer, and longer silhouette for spring, maintaining the recognizable character of Studio Nicholson, becomes part of the lexicon of a modular wardrobe, focusing on building a wardrobe with the ability to use previous elements.
The men’s collection presents its own tensions, combining highly refined construction with raw details. This dramatic juxtaposition makes a strong impression while remaining subtle.
The Ledro coat nods to classic trench coats but with a long, exaggerated silhouette that feels incredibly modern. The Bridges trousers are crafted using traditional tailoring techniques, harking back to the design of durable carpenter pants. Cotton fabric with a peached effect highlights the difference between high and low, raw and refined. The Ossi shorts – similar to the Kamet – feature a generous cut, high waist, and extended pleat to the knees. It’s also worth noting the Leroy bomber, truly unisex and fitting into the androgynous themes of the season, providing a modern reference to the timeless aviator jacket.
The premiere of the Studio Nicholson spring collection took place a few days ago, available both in their physical store and online. Take a look and find something for yourself.
