Anticipated by many, Converse Weapon, after a series of collaborations with fragment design, UNDEFEATED, and Kasina, officially returns to the brand’s lineup on the eve of the NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the basketball star from OKC and a two-time All-Star participant, leads the revived Converse Weapon, reenacting the iconic “Choose Your Weapon” campaign from 1986.
Converse Weapon originally debuted in 1986 and became a cult model of the ’80s and ’90s. Now, in the original material and form, Converse reintroduces these models for the next generation. Both variants feature leather uppers, Star Chevron on the base panels, light soles and outsoles, and the characteristic Y-beam of the Weapon.
The hero of this post was reworked in 2020 as part of the CX line with updated sole foam. In 2021, Rick Owens also gave it new life as TURBOWPN.
Converse Weapon shoes will return in the original colors: Black, Natural Ivory, as well as in Vintage White, Ash Stone, and Egret versions. Weapon Ox will come in White, Black, Vintage White, and Vintage Cargo versions.
Both models will be available for purchase in the coming days on the brand’s website and selected stores.
