Initially launched in 1994, this particular rendition of the Air Jordan 9 pays homage to Michael Jordan’s collegiate years at the University of North Carolina. The design features a predominantly white leather construction with UNC blue accents on the tongue, sockliner, and heel. The vibrant blue shade extends across the midsole, resting atop a white rubber outsole. The color scheme is completed with black elements on the laces, eyestays, tongue, collar lining, heel pull, and the miniature Jumpman logo on the lateral heel of the sole.
While previous retros of the Air Jordan 9, including the 2010 version of the “Powder Blue,” typically showcase “23” branding on the heels, this upcoming retro of the “Powder Blue” intentionally excludes that detail to maintain authenticity to the original pairs released in 1994.
