Palace Skateboards, always devoted to British football culture, once again ventures into the realm of collaboration, this time with the sportswear brand Umbro. In the spring and summer collection, Palace pays homage to both British football culture and the heritage of its collaborator.
Inspired by Umbro, a brand with a century-long history founded in 1924 by brothers Harold and Wallace Humphrey, the collection reflects on the legacy. The name Umbro is a combination of “um” from Humphreys and “bro” from brothers. The Humphreys started with football kits, quickly expanding into rugby, offering a wide range of jerseys, shorts, and socks for both sports.
The collection pays tribute to simpler times in the history of British football, offering classic tracksuits, hoodies, and shorts, while infusing the energy of the 90s through psychedelic “Palio” shirts in three versions – home, away, and goalkeeper, adorned with graphics from past Dreamscape rave party posters held throughout the UK. The collection is complemented by 6-panel hats, snapback caps, knee-high and calf-length socks.
The Palace x Umbro collection will be released on March 8 in physical locations and on the brand’s website. Get a sneak peek now.
