Renowned French fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus and Nike have extended their collaboration into 2024, introducing a fresh spring collection featuring women’s and unisex apparel, a new variation of the J Force 1, and the debut of the Le Swoosh bag.
This latest collection builds upon the thematic continuity established in their inaugural partnership in 2022: athleticism isn’t solely about performance; it’s also an extension of personal style. The women’s activewear pieces exude a blend of allure, style, and functionality, encompassing draped sports bras, dresses, bodysuits, zip-up tops, pants, and bike shorts. The unisex pieces offer an athleisure-inspired appearance, comprising tees, hoodies, and sweatpants adorned with cut-out swooshes.
In the footwear realm, the collection introduces a brown nubuck iteration of the J Force 1, a silhouette inspired by the classic Air Force 1 and featuring a woven, glue-free sole unit reminiscent of Nike Considered line models like the ACG Terra CL. This marks the fourth rendition of the J Force 1, following the initial all-leather white and black versions from Summer 2023 and the orange suede and mesh iteration released during Holiday 2023.
Completing the lineup is the Le Swoosh bag, representing the first collaboration between Nike and Jacquemus in the accessories domain, showcasing Nike’s iconic Swoosh reimagined as a handbag.
“When we began working on the Le Swoosh bag in late 2020, I was fixated on the Swoosh itself as a unique logo. I wanted to reinterpret it, keeping it minimal and making it the focal point,” explains Simon Porte Jacquemus. “The Swoosh, to me, is the ultimate Nike logo, transcending generations and collections over the years. Its minimalism and distinctive shape provide creatives with endless design possibilities and interpretations.”
The campaign features track and field world champion Sha’Carri Richardson, symbolizing the multifaceted nature of an athlete in constant competition with oneself.
“Fashion is deeply personal, and I use it to express myself—it reflects your feelings, mood, and creativity,” expresses Sha’Carri. “Simon’s collection inspires me because the pieces are edgy yet elegant, encouraging me to authentically show up, while hopefully inspiring others to do the same.”
The Jacquemus x Nike Spring 2024 collection is currently available on Jacquemus.com and at Jacquemus stores. A broader release is scheduled for March 5th via SNKRS and select Nike retailers, with the Le Swoosh bag exclusively available through Jacquemus. Take a closer look below.
