When it comes to blending fashion with anime and gaming culture, few streetwear brands can match Hypland’s success. After the recent launch of their Gundam collaboration, Jordan Bentley and his team are now introducing a collection in partnership with the legendary Street Fighter video game series.
The lineup showcases a diverse array of classic fighters from the franchise, including Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Cammy, Dhalsim, and Blanka. Some pieces even display the controller inputs for the characters’ iconic moves.
The graphics predominantly center around Street Fighter II, which makes sense given its immense popularity and status as one of the highest-grossing video games of all time. However, the collection also pays homage to Street Fighter III with an “Alex” knit sweater, featuring a character introduced in that installment.
In addition to the usual streetwear fare like graphic tees and hoodies, the collection includes three knit sweaters—one featuring Ryu, another showcasing Akuma, and the aforementioned Alex design. Hypland has also recreated Dee Jay’s “MAXIMUM” pants and crafted their rendition of Sagat’s muay thai shorts. Other muay thai shorts in the collection feature graphics inspired by stages from Street Fighter II, such as Guile’s Air Force base and the “Destroy Car” bonus stage.
Last but not least, the collection offers two character rugs, one featuring Ryu and the other depicting Chun Li.
The Hypland x Street Fighter collaboration launches on Saturday, April 20th at 9am PT on hypland.com. Explore the full lookbook below.
