Rihanna & PUMA Introduce Earth Tones to the Creeper Phatty

One of the models from Rihanna’s revived FENTY x PUMA collaboration is the Creeper Phatty, a bolder iteration of the original Creeper that Riri helped elevate to “sneaker of the year” status in 2016. While the Avanti draws inspiration from soccer and running, the Creeper was born from a remix of the classic PUMA Suede, giving it a platform sole with ridges.

The Creeper Phatty expands upon the Creeper’s design, featuring a more padded upper and a stacked crepe gum sole. While the initial colorways were vibrant and bright, the upcoming Earth Tone pack opts for soft, natural hues instead.

The Earth Tone pack consists of three colorways, each crafted from high-quality nubuck and accented with luxurious pops of gold. “Totally Taupe” arrives in a neutral brown shade, “Green Fog” in a soft green representing wisdom and intelligence, and “Warm White” pairs perfectly with a fresh spring palette. All three colorways will be available in adult, junior, pre-school, and infant sizes.

The campaign for this launch was photographed by Philippa Price and takes inspiration from the concept of “creeping” – attempting to do something without being noticed. With creative direction from Rihanna herself, the campaign explores the art of camouflage through carefully composed tone-on-tone imagery.

The FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty “Totally Taupe” releases on April 18th at midnight ET on the PUMA website. The other two colorways from the Earth Tone pack will be available on April 25th on PUMA.com (10am ET), at PUMA stores, and at select retailers including Foot Locker and JD Sports.
