The fashion world is buzzing with excitement as two industry legends, Adrian Joffe and Rei Kawakubo, have officially announced the opening of Dover Street Market Paris.
A Historic Location with a Modern Twist
Dover Street Market Paris is situated in the historic former Association 3537 building, which has been its home for the past three years. The store occupies the ground and first floors, as well as one of the three basements of the Hôtel de Coulanges, a structure that dates back to between 1627 and 1634. The remaining two basements and the courtyard are set to host a variety of artistic, literary, musical, and social events. As before, the second, third, and fourth floors will continue to house the DSMP brand development team.
Innovative Design by Rei Kawakubo
Rei Kawakubo herself has designed the entire store, including the Rose Bakery café. Embracing the concept of "New Chaos," the store's design invites visitors to explore the space and discover the brands and items within. No clothing will be visible from the outside, and there will be no dedicated spaces or concessions. The idea is to encourage customers to make the effort to find the items they desire, adding an element of adventure to their shopping experience.
Special Installations to Mark the Opening
To celebrate the opening, the store will feature an installation and exhibition titled "Comme des Garçons for and by Paolo Roversi." Additionally, Matty Bovan has created an installation in the basement, adding to the unique and immersive experience for visitors.
